The month of August started off with a Rock Cats baseball game in New Britain, Conn. The Rock Cats are a minor league team for the Minnesota Twins. The event was sponsored by the St. Mary’s Club of Meriden. Members of the Falcons attended to get some ideas for our trip there at the end of the month.
The very next day following the game, I was off to Boston for the ITE (Institute of Transportation Engineers) Convention.
Then, the next weekend I got on a party bus and headed off to New York City for a Yankee game. Members from Nests 36, 68 and 208 attended the game.
During this time of the year, many Districts have their conventions, so off I went to Muskegon, Mich. for District VI’s Convention hosted by Nest 276. I had a great time with all the Delegates and I can’t wait to go back for another visit!
Returning to Connecticut, it was time for the District V fundraiser, which took place at another New Britain Rock Cats baseball game. A fun time was had, with Falcon Members from across Connecticut in attendance.
At 5 a.m. the morning following the game, I was off to Pittsburgh for our Executive Committee meeting at Headquarters.
While in the Pittsburgh area, I visited the clubs at Nests 8 and 77. Lastly, I ended the month of August celebrating Mallorie’s 25th birthday and Josh and Erica’s 1st wedding anniversary.
