Nest 104 announces 2013 scholarship recipients

The ninth annual Nest 104 Scholarships have been awarded. Four scholarships, valued at $2,000 each, have been distributed to three Nest 104 Members and one Nest 946 Member. Please note that Nest 104 dues-paid Members in good standing, as well as good standing Members of other District I Nests, are eligible apply for the annual awards.


Alison Kalinowski

Alison Kalinowksi, Nest 946
A 2012 graduate of Immaculata High School in Somerville, N.J., Kalinowski is entering her sophomore year at Quinnipiac University, majoring in Physical Therapy. She is a Dean’s List student, pursuing an accelerated six-year doctorate in Physical Therapy, aiming to specialize in Neuro-Physical Therapy. Actively involved with Nest 946, Kalinowski participated in the Polish School, various holiday events and the church Christmas party.


Pierce Guderski

Pierce Guderski, Nest 104
Entering his junior year at Chapman University, Guderski is majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology. Active as a volunteer at the Community Hospital of Monterey Peninsula, Guderski is also engaged in the Army R.O.T.C., the Chapman men’s lacrosse team and music arranging and production.



Victoria Pietrucha

Victoria Pietrucha, Nest 104
A 2013 Cum Laude graduate of James Madison University with a 3.6 gpa, Pietrucha is commencing Master’s study in Speech Language Pathology at Seton Hall University. She was active in the Nicaraguan Orphan Fund, the Student Speech Hearing Language Association and the Order of Omega Honors Society.



Christie Furman

Christie Furman, Nest 104
A 2013 graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale, N.J., Furman will be a Business and Marketing major at Fairfield University. She represented New Jersey at the International DECA Marketing and Business Competition, served as President of her Mock Trail team, was a delegate to the Model United Nations, served as Captain of her high school softball team and created a marketing campaign to raise awareness and funding for the Shelter Our Sisters campaign against domestic violence.


Nest 104 congratulates the 2013 recipients. Their academic and extracurricular achievements are outstanding. Along with the 2005 through 2012 recipients, we take pride in their accomplishments and wish them every academic and career success.
